Terms & Conditions — CodoKit
Last updated: January 1, 2025
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the CodoKit website located at https://codokit.example.com (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required to provide consent under the laws of your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.
2. The Service
CodoKit provides a collection of browser-based developer tools — formatters, encoders, decoders, generators, and text utilities — that process input entirely on the user's device. The Service does not store, transmit, or process user input on its servers. We may add, modify, or remove tools at any time without prior notice.
The Service is provided free of charge. We do not guarantee that any particular tool will remain available indefinitely, and we may discontinue any tool at any time.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or servers
- Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to place undue load on our infrastructure
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service, advertising, or analytics
- Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or exploit any portion of the Service for commercial purposes without written consent
4. "As-is" disclaimer (important — please read)
The Service is provided strictly on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express or implied.
The tools on this site are developer utilities, not engineering safety-critical systems. They may produce incorrect output. You are solely responsible for verifying the correctness of any output produced by the Service before using it in production code, documentation, contracts, or regulated systems.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall CodoKit, its owners, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service.
Because the Service is provided free of charge, the aggregate liability of CodoKit for any claim shall not exceed USD $1.00.
6. Intellectual property
The Service — including its visual design, copy, code, and selection of tools — is owned by CodoKit and protected by intellectual property laws. Individual libraries used by tools retain their original open-source licenses.
You retain all rights to any input you submit to the Service and to any output produced from that input. We claim no ownership of your data.
7. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
8. Contact
